Getting it right for every child is a national programme that is informing how adults think and act to help all children and young people grow, develop and reach their full potential.
Over the coming years, Getting it right for every child will help practitioners and organisations to remove the obstacles that can block children’s paths on their journey from birth to adulthood.
Children and young people are central to Getting it right for every child. The involvement and contribution of children, young people and families is a fundamental principle of the programme.
The aim of the Getting it right for every child roadshow is to promote the programme, increase understanding and support local implementation across Scotland by maintaining the momentum for change, providing clarity and opportunities to share learning with local managers, planners and practitioners.
Objectives of the roadshow
- To focus on change on three fronts: culture change, systems change and practice change and encourage further activity.
- To present Getting it right for every child in the context of other relevant policy areas.
- To explain how the programme is being taken forward, particularly what is emerging from the exploratory pathfinding activities and the kinds of progress and success measures noted.
- To explain the potential of the establishment of a Learning Community to promote a spirit of learning.
- To share latest developments in terms of national guidance and support and the developing eCare framework and data standards.
- To provide an opportunity to identify and share local issues and challenges and discuss solutions.
Who should attend?
The roadshow is designed for local managers, planners and practitioners involved in delivering services for children across education, health, social work, youth work, the police, voluntary sector and housing.
